+ How do I become a member?

Apply to become Rambert Grades member here. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with information on how to join as a member. There are two types of membership: Individual (£140 p/a) and Centre (£150 p/a plus £50 for each additional teacher). Annual renewal: The membership year runs annually from your sign-up date. You can join at any time during the year.

+ Should I go for individual or centre membership?

Centre membership is best for organisations who have multiple teachers teaching the Grades (or intend to). If this doesn’t apply to you, having an individual membership might be better – it won’t affect your ability to enter dancers for exams at all.

+ Why should I choose Rambert Grades?

At Rambert we believe that to give brilliant and daring people the chance to inspire others is to give them the power to change the world for the better. Rambert Grades is built on a relevance to professional practice, embracing an ethos of progressive dance education. It is carefully designed to ensure students from all backgrounds gain the skills and knowledge in contemporary dance that enable them to unleash their creative force, become brave enough to engage, take personal responsibility, push themselves and move the world forward.

+ Who is the Rambert Grades for? Is it right for my dancers?

Rambert Grades is for anyone who would like to be involved. Rambert Grades is radically inclusive. Attitude not characteristics will be the only thing that excludes anyone. Rambert Grades is available to and relevant to all students today because it is also about attitude and freedom to explore individual style. We don’t want everyone to look the same, it is the intention of the movement that is important to us. Individuality is actively encouraged.

+ Which artists and organisations are involved in Rambert Grades?

Rambert School and Rambert dance company have come together to establish the Rambert Grades - a new benchmark in contemporary dance training and education that focuses on the development of creativity and individuality. For us the question of professional relevance has been absolutely at the root of our thinking. How to create a syllabus that actually has bearing and a connection with the breadth of contemporary dance practices that are currently being explored professionally. To this end we are delighted to be commissioning newly created works for the Rambert Grades syllabus from influential contemporary dance makers Hofesh Shechter and Alesandra Seutin, with further makers to be added.
