Progressive dance training means students from all backgrounds gain skills and knowledge in contemporary dance and also unleash their creative force, are brave enough to engage, take personal responsibility, push themselves and move the world forward.

The national and international benchmark for creative contemporary dance learning and practice. Rambert Grades is an exceptional and unique framework, accessible for people from all backgrounds, working with the whole person and developing all the transferable skills this affords.

Rambert Quality

Rambert Grades has the energy of two of the world’s leading contemporary dance organisations behind it - Rambert School and Rambert Company. The school and company share the Rambert heritage and are able to draw on an expertise grounded in many years of developing professional dance artists of unique quality and excellence, an extraordinary foundation for the development of a new benchmark in dance education and training.

 
 

Our Partners

Our qualifications are ideal for:

  • students in the state education sector, studying with teachers who deliver contemporary dance in schools under the National Curricula and have a familiarity with Rambert, either by hosting Rambert Company Education workshops or studying historic Rambert work as part of the set curricula.

  • students studying with teachers who work in the private education sector, who deliver syllabi and enter into examinations with a current dance awarding body. 

Both settings can be supported by students having structured training in contemporary dance, alongside other educational activities, to help them develop as dancers. 

Rambert Grades offer a unique package with links to higher education via the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and to the profession via Rambert Dance Company; along with access to high calibre personnel, including leading contemporary dance choreographers, and an internationally recognised brand.

Regulated by Ofqual

Rambert Grades is an awarding body regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (Ofqual). Our examinations are an integral part of the learning process, and a moment of celebration.

The benefits of being a recognised awarding organisation include:

  • the recognition provides confidence to qualification users and the wider community that Rambert Grades develops and offers high-quality qualifications

  • the Ofqual quality mark is valued internationally, so our qualifications are regulated internationally

  • our qualifications may be considered for public funding for teaching in state and publicly funded schools and colleges

Teach Rambert Grades

Rambert Grades is an inclusive contemporary dance syllabus with three levels across 8 grades. Our Syllabus Training is designed for current dance teachers, PE teachers who would like to teach contemporary dance and dance artists and dance graduates who would like to teach contemporary dance. We offer training online, in two formats to suit different learning styles.
