Join the Global Teaching Network Shaping the Future of Contemporary Dance

Rambert Grades’ international community of contemporary dance teachers continues to expand, and the organisation welcomes membership applications ahead of the next training courses beginning in October 2025 and January 2026.

With more than 700 Trained Teachers across 37 countries, Rambert Grades membership provides access to the pioneering contemporary dance framework created by Rambert and Rambert School, connecting professional stages to dance schools and studios worldwide.

Connecting Professional Stages to Local Studios

Spanning eleven grades across four levels, Rambert Grades offers a progressive contemporary dance training built on Technique, Creative and Performance Strands. Students gain transferable skills and knowledge in contemporary dance, enabling them to unleash their creative force and develop their individuality.

Through the syllabus, students engage directly with choreography by world-renowned artists including Matthew Bourne, Vidya Patel, Hofesh Shechter, Alesandra Seutin, Will Tuckett and ZooNation, experiencing the professional repertoire as seen on stage.

Rooted in Legacy

Rambert Grades builds on over a century ofRambert’s heritage in developing dance artists of the highest standard. This legacy underpins the progressive approach to contemporary dance education which is grounded in the professional industry, centred on safe practice, and committed to nurturing each dancer’s individual voice.

Student examinations are designed as moments of celebration. All Rambert Grades examinations are regulated by Ofqual, ensuring that every learner achieves a recognised qualification of the highest quality.

Membership and Training

Membership is open to dance educators from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

Training, delivered primarily online, combines dance performance expertise with practical pedagogy to support the delivery of high-quality contemporary dance education and qualifications. Explore upcoming courses here

Membership begins at £150 per year, with discounts available for Centre Memberships, Royal Academy of Dance members and recent graduates.

 

Open Information Session: 17th September

Ahead of the next training courses, Rambert Grades will host a free online Information Session on 17 September 2025. This session offers prospective Members the opportunity to learn more about the syllabus, student examinations, training courses, and community, as well as ask questions directly to the team.
