Upcoming Syllabus Training and Refresher courses

Training programme types

Syllabus Training

Our standard training format, this course is ideal for those whose learning style benefits from more time to digest and process information. With shorter sessions spread over a longer period of time, this may suit teachers who have availability for 2-3 hours each day.

Syllabus Training Intensive

Our intensive programme offers the same learning and content over a much shorter timeframe.
This is ideal for those who wish to absorb the material in an intensive few days with longer hours.

Performance Pathway
Bolt-Ons

All of our Syllabus Training programmes include learning the performance strand material from one of our invited choreographers. Our Performance Pathway Bolt-Ons provide the option to add a further choreographer to your teaching repertoire.

Bolt-Ons can be booked during your training, or anytime after. You must have completed or be training in the relevant Level to complete an additional performance pathway for this Level. Bolt-Ons run during every Syllabus Training programme, offered online and may also be offered in-person within Syllabus Training Intensive programmes.

Refresher Training

New for this year, we have introduced Refresher Training for Grades 1-8 of the Rambert Grades Syllabus. This is offered on any of our Grades 1 - 8 Syllabus courses.
Our Refresher Training offers Rambert Grades members who have already trained, the opportunity to refresh their knowledge ahead of entering students into examinations.
Refresher training contributes to CPD, as required every two years in the Membership Agreement.
Further information on how to book your refresher training can found in your members area.

About the training: Grades 1-8

Our Syllabus Training programmes are a virtual learning environment for teaching Rambert Grades across three levels and 8 qualifications (Grades 1-8). Teachers are supported through a variety of ways to learn, digest and embody the Rambert Grades material.

The programme is constructed as two distinct units of learning (phases) followed by a consolidation session. Through a blend of self-led and guided learning, you’ll cover our three strands: technical, creative and performance.

Phase 1 (independent learning)

During phase 1 we expect you to familiarise yourself with our Syllabus material. As a member you will immediately have access to the Syllabus Content for our three strands once you book your training. Additionally, one week ahead of scheduled start date, you will gain access to the training area where you will be able to watch a series of short videos that will support your training and help you prepare for the live guided sessions.

Phase 2 (guided):

By the end of this phase, you will be fully equipped to start teaching the Rambert Grades material. During the live training sessions, our artists will take you through each exercise/solo in the Grade as well as walk you through our Creative Strand. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and see how others have translated the movement through predominantly practical sessions. We do not hold an exam at the end of this phase. Whilst we love to have our members at every live training session, we understand that this is not always possible, and allow for some flexibility by providing recordings if needed.

Following training, we host a member support meeting every month. This is an opportunity for trained members to consolidate their training and enquire about syllabus content and examinations.

About the training: Creative Dance for Early Years

Our Creative Dance for Early Years course trains participants to deliver three accredited grades for ages 3+: Creative Movers, Pre-Primary and Primary. Structured over two live 3-hour sessions on two consecutive days, participants are guided through the Rambert Grades ethos and style of teaching for this age group, and given the tools to develop physical skills and creativity in young children. The course includes a pack of specifically designed Rambert Grades cards which act as lesson plan tools, alongside further resources.

Following training, we host a member support meeting every month. This is an opportunity for trained members to consolidate their training and enquire about syllabus content and examinations.
